After about 5 years of procrastination - with one year of 'this site is offline under constuction' - I have tentatively taken the first step toward launching this website.

One key lesson to be learnt is this: Don't launch (or pay for) a website when you don't have content to put up on it. It's true I had a lot of great ideas and a lot of stuff to offer. But having the time to really sit down and compile all this into something that can be posted on a site is a different thing entirely. Not to mention the coding that would be involved.

So I want to offer my 2 cents with regards to Content Management Systems (CMS) and other web development frameworks. Even though I've been coding websites using PHP for over 5 years now, I have had to adopt various frameworks at various times to increase turnaround time. Without a framework this site would still probably have been "under construction".

So here's saying thanks to the guys who have built tools to make us more productive.

  • Drupal
  • Prado
  • Yii
  • Artisteer

I'll make this first post short since I'm currently working on another site.
